Durham Skating Club Policies
Skaters must agree to all policies upon registration.
Durham Skating Club Registration Agreement
By accepting this registration agreement, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to all of the following club policies and conditions of registration.
- Club Liability Waiver: The applicant hereby waives all claims, rights, or causes of action against the Durham Skating Club, its officers, directors, employees, or members for personal injury or loss of property of any nature, however and wherever sustained.
- Refund Policy: A full refund, less the Skate Canada fee, will be issued if the skater decides to discontinue skating within their first three (3) scheduled sessions. After the third session, a refund or credit will only be considered if a valid medical reason is provided.
- Mandatory Helmet Policy: In accordance with Skate Canada safety standards, all CanSkaters up to and including level 5 MUST wear a CSA-approved hockey helmet while on the ice. Skaters who do not have a proper helmet will not be allowed on the ice.
- Skate Canada Privacy Code & Notice of Collection: Please find attached Skate Canada’s privacy Code. When registered with Durham Skating Club your child will also be registered with Skate Canada. Skate Canada has made changes to its Privacy Code and is now requiring a Parent/Guardian to sign the Notice of Collection.

- Media Consent: By completing this registration, you grant the club permission to use your skater's image, photograph, or video footage to promote club activities on our website, social media, or in local newspapers. The club will use good judgement and never sell your images. Full names may be used to celebrate achievements such as test passes, and competitions.

- To Opt-Out: If you wish to restrict your child's image, you must email durhamskatingclub@gmail.com with the subject line "Media Opt-Out" and include your skaters full name

- Family Fundraising Commitment: A $150 family fundraising commitment is included with registration. This fee is automatically added to your cart at checkout. Your family will receive $150 worth of club raffle tickets to sell to recover this cost, or you may choose to keep the tickets and enter the draw yourselves. We thank you for supporting the Durham Skating Club- your participation helps keep our programs affordable.
Rowan's Law Acknowledgement
Athletes under 26 and parents of athletes under 18 years of age must confirm that they have
reviewed the Government of Ontario Concussion Awareness Resources below and Skate Ontario’s
Concussion Code of Conduct for Athletes and Parents/Guardians prior to registration and/or on the
first day of skating
