2025/26 Season Policies
Our policies for the 2025-26 Season are below. Skaters must agree to all policies upon registration.
Durham Skating Club Waiver 2025-2026
Applicant hereby waives all claims, rights or causes of action against the Durham Skating Club, its officers, directors, employees, or members for personal injury or loss of property of any nature, however or wherever sustained.
Refund Policy 2025-2026
A full refund, less the Skate Canada fee of $61.70, will be issued if the skater decides within the first 3 sessions to discontinue skating. After this time a refund or credit will only be considered with a medical reason.
Helmet Policy 2025-2026
All CanSkaters up to and including level 5 must wear a CSA approved helmet.
Skate Canada Privacy Code
When registered with Durham Skating Club your child will also be registered with Skate Canada. Skate Canada has made changes to its Privacy Code and is now requiring a Parent/Guardian to sign the Notice of Collection.

Media Permission
I give my permission for the Durham Skating Club to use my skater's image (photograph or video) to promote club activities and events in newspapers, on the Club's social media or websites.
Rowan's Law Acknowledgement
Athletes under 26 and parents of athletes under 18 years of age must confirm that they have
reviewed the Government of Ontario Concussion Awareness Resources below and Skate Ontario’s
Concussion Code of Conduct for Athletes and Parents/Guardians prior to registration and/or on the
first day of skating

Fundraising Agreement 2025-2026
Durham Skating Club is a not-for-profit club and fundraising is essential in keeping registration costs down. We are asking each skater participate in $150 of fundraising for the Durham Skating Club throughout the season.
If you do not wish to participate in fundraising, you can opt out by paying the Fundraising Opt Out Fee.
Durham Skating Club Guest Policy
Guest skaters may participate in our STARSkate sessions, under the following requirements.
Eligibility: all guest skaters must be a registered member of a Skate Canada sanctioned club and hold a current Skate Canada Membership. Proof of valid Skate Canada Membership must be provided prior to participation.
Advance Approval: Guest skaters must contact the Durham Skating Club at durhamskatingclub@gmail.com in advance of the session they wish to attend. Participation is subject to Board approval, which will be based on ice availability and session capacity.
Fee: A $30.00 guest skating fee applies per session. All fees must be paid in full through Uplifter prior to stepping on the ice. Required waivers must be completed and signed through Uplifter before participation is permitted.
Skaters who arrive without prior approval or have not completed the necessary steps will not be permitted to skate.
